Ryan Arnel

Ryan’s passion for Thoroughbreds developed early in life. Watching races with his grandma, who managed Victoria’s first TAB, Ryan would be sent down to the local pub to put her bets on during the week, not realising this would be the start of a life long passion.

After years of talking horses and racing with Gran it was the livestock side that took over as he went out to stations across Victoria and Australia gaining experience in all aspects of agriculture whilst completing an Advanced Diploma of Agriculture with Melbourne University via correspondence.

It was in Victoria’s Western District that Ryan gained hands on experience, working and breaking  stock horses. Ryan left his position as Livestock Overseer at Banongill Station after being awarded the Australian Stud Book Scholarship to study Horse Business Management at Marcus Oldham College in Geelong.

During his time at college Ryan gained experience with Sales Companies throughout Australia as well as working in the thoroughbred industry in both Australia and New Zealand.

On completion of his studies Ryan travelled to the United Kingdom to take up a position as Assistant Manager at Mickley Stud, Shropshire. During this time he spent 3 months shuttling a stallion to Chile, an opportunity which provided a good insight into the South American thoroughbred industry.

In 2011 Ryan then moved over to David Redver’s Gloucestershire based stud, Tweenhills Farm, where he assisted with Stallions, sales and management roles.Ryan still works for David assisting with the Australian interests of Qatar Bloodstock.
